How to Apply for New Ration Card Meghalaya?

For obtaining a New Ration Card following steps to be followed-

  1. Obtain the application form from the District Supply Officer.
  2. Filled up form and old Ration Card to be submitted at District Supply Office.
  3. Affix the required documents like Residential Certificate, Reduction/Surrender Certificate/Non Renewal certificate from the district Supply Office of your area/Income Certificate/Declaration.

The Card will be issued to the applicant within 15 days by the concerned authority. Family Identity Cards Can be attained from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner [S], / Sub – Divisional Officer [S], concerned.

Renewal Of the Ration Card Meghalaya-

In Case of the Renewal, Temporary Ration Card will be issued by the government and the same will be issued in the 7 days of the application form submitted to the District Supply Officer. Residential and Income Certificate is also required to be produced with the application form.

Issue of Duplicate Ration Card Meghalaya-

For the Duplicate Ration Card or Change of the Address in Ration Card from one authorized dealer to another or if the applicant wants to add, delete the name of any member from the ration card, in all these cases application is required to be made to the District Supply Office of the respective area.

For the Fresh Issue of Ration Card in Meghalaya or Renewal of the Ration Card, the Application Form in PFD can be downloaded from the Meghalaya Government’s Food Supply Website.

Identification of the Annapurna Yojana and APL, BPL, Antyodaya Ration Card Meghalaya-

A. Below Poverty Line-

BPL Families are identified by Community and Rural Development Department in the case of Rural Areas and the Urban Affairs Department in the case of Urban Areas.

B. Antyodaya Anna Yojana-

AAY Families are identified from amongst the BPL Families by the Deputy Commissioner [S], / Sub -Divisional Officer [S]. The beneficiaries convert their BPL Cards into AAY cards on the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioners/Sub-Divisional Officers concerned.

C. Annapurna Scheme-

Indigent Old Age Person above 65 years of age and not covered under the National Old Age Pension Scheme. The applicant may approach the concerned Deputy Commissioner [S], / Sub – Divisional Officer [S] for availing the Scheme.

D. Above Poverty Line-

Families who do not covered under above schemes, are called above Poverty Line Families.
